At Ocean Oasis, we believe that the ocean offers a sustainable answer to the world’s increasing water challenges. Based in Norway and the Canary Islands, we apply decades of offshore and desalination expertise to develop solutions that enable renewable, chemical-free desalination powered by the energy of the ocean itself. Our mission is to deliver reliable and competitive water infrastructure where it is most needed. By rethinking how desalination is deployed, we aim to contribute to a future where access to fresh water is no longer constrained by energy, land, or environmental limitations.
We believe water abundance is possible
At Ocean Oasis, we get frustrated at seeing increased headlines on water scarcity and droughts. Split between Norway and the Canary Islands in Spain, we see the ocean through the lens of abundance. It holds one of the answers to solving water challenges.
What if we could reimagine desalination to unlock abundant, chemical-free, cheap and renewably powered water production? This purpose powers our team forwards everyday to build, refine and eventually scale our sustainable desalination innovation.
About the Ocean Oasis team
At Ocean Oasis, we understand that addressing water scarcity requires collaboration. Drawing on a diverse team and partners from Norway and Spain, we have brought together decades of expertise from the Norwegian offshore industry and the Spanish desalination sector to create a new path for sustainable desalination.
Our first full-scale pilot was successfully tested in Gran Canaria between 2023 and 2025. We are now moving forward with our first commercial deployment, integrating our technology with existing desalination infrastructure to provide reliable and sustainable water supply. From 2027 we will scale, installing commercial fleets of buoys, first across the Canary Islands and then moving on to other markets.
Our multidisciplinary team combines experience in technology development, finance, offshore engineering, desalination and operations. We believe that delivering resilient water infrastructure requires a shared commitment to creating lasting impact.
